Ellis Island. A major place in America for immigrants during the 1880's through 1920 until the great depression. It is amazing that so many people came to America during that 40 year time period. It is fascinating on where so many people came/come from. Its amazing that so many still are coming to america but not all just through Ellis island but through Angel Island in California. I just wonder the total amount of immigrants came in through both Angel Island and Ellis Island during that 40 year time period. I wonder where immigrants come in through now to come in america. But what i did find out that from 2000 to 2010 over 11 million immigrants came to america from all over the world. I want to know on why others came to america other than looking for a better life here in america. Where people turned away/ told to go back to their homeland when at angel island and Ellis Island? Why? How did people manage when they came to america? What was racing through their minds when at the islands? What did they have to go through to get there? What was it like there? All good questions to be answered.
